Oro dads approve pact for MRF study
THE 20th City Council, in its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved an ordinance authorizing Mayor Klarex Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Aquanaut Construction Corp. covering their project proposal to prepare a feasibility study for a material recovery facility (MRF) in the city.
In his letter to the City Council, Mayor Uy said the implementation of MRF in the city will bring great benefit for its residents considering the city’s large population, resulting in a substantial volume of waste. Through the MRF, waste diversion can be done by serving as collection and sorting facility for the solid wastes before disposal to landfills.
Under the MoU, the Aquanaut Construction Corp. has committed to prepare a feasibility study for the project for a period of twelve (12) months, determine the feasibility of the project and subsequently submit its project proposal at no cost to the city government of Cagayan de Oro.
For its part, the City Government shall acknowledge the volume of works, and keep confidential the progress involved in the preparation of the feasibility study during the 12-month period as well as all requests, discussions and inquiries made by Aquanaut Construction Corporation to any party, person, or organization, unless upon court order or government directive, but only after having informed the corporation of such order or directive.
The legislation was duly certified urgent by City Mayor Rolando A. Uy.
