Oro dads approve Brgy. 38 SK budget

The 20th City Council, during its 87th regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved the annual budget for calendar year 2024 of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay 38.

The budget, with an estimated income of ₱332,983.00, is sourced from the barangay’s 10% development fund in compliance with the SK Reform Act.

It covers personal services for SK members, maintenance and operating expenses including office supplies and the repair and maintenance of office equipment as well as youth development initiatives on education, active citizenship, environmental protection, governance, and health is also given budget allocation.

Proposed programs include promoting equitable access to education, conducting the Linggo ng Kabataan, championing environmental protection through disaster risk reduction and response (DRRR), and providing health services with a focus on adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on Sports and Youth Development and on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilors Kenneth John Sacala and Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively.
