Oro dads approve Brgy. 21 SK budget

In its 94th regular session, the 20th City Council, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, passed a resolution approving the 2024 annual budget of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay 21.

The approved budget, totaling ₱342,499.00, is sourced from ten percent (10%) of the barangay’s general fund, in compliance with Republic Act No. 10742, or the SK Reform Act. 

A significant portion of the budget, ₱161,000.00, will be dedicated to youth development and empowerment programs, with allocations for specific areas: ₱7,000.00 for health, ₱35,000.00 for education, ₱13,000.00 for peacebuilding and security, ₱7,000.00 for governance, ₱73,000.00 for active citizenship, and ₱26,000.00 for environmental initiatives.

Additionally, the SK has earmarked funds for personal services, covering the salaries of SK members, and for maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE), including travel, training, and office supplies.

The resolution was sponsored by the Committee on Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John Sacala, and the Committee on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar Cabanlas.
