Oro dads approve annual budget of brgys Kauswagan, Puntod SK

In its 76th regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, the 20th City Council returned as operative the respective resolutions of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangays Kauswagan and Puntod, covering their annual budget for calendar year 2024.  

The incomes  of SK Kauswagan and Puntod were sourced from their barangay’s 10% development fund in accordance with RA 10742, also known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2005, aimed at creating mechanisms for youth participation in local governance and nation-building.

Both youth councils appropriated funds for payment of personal services, office supplies and equipment, furniture and fixtures, trainings, and seminar.

Funds have also been allocated for life skills and livelihood skills training, health awareness and anti-illegal drugs campaign, financial literacy, programs on social inclusion and peacebuilding, culture and the arts, youth leadership and sports.

The rest of the appropriations were intended for their waste segregation project, clean-up drives, and disaster risk reduction management training, as their proactive stance on environmental stewardship and disaster resilience.

The legislations were endorsed by the Committees of Sports and Youth Development and on Laws and Rules, respectively chaired by Councilors Kenneth John D. Sacala and Edgar S. Cabanlas.
