Oro dads adopt local youth dev’t plan for 2024-2028

DURING its 107th regular session, the 20th City Council, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, adopted the Local Youth Development Plan (LYDP) for 2024-2028.

The plan, approved and submitted by the Office of the City Youth Development Officer, Oro Youth Development Council, and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, outlines the city's strategic approach to youth development over the next five years.

The LYDP is structured around the 10 centers of youth participation on health, education, economic empowerment, social inclusion and equity, peace-building and security, good governance, active citizenship, agriculture, environment, and global mobility to address various youth-related issues.

It also outlines specific programs, each with performance indicators, target participants, priority areas, and an annual budget.

In his letter, Mr. Lord Saver D. Centina, MPSM, officer-in-charge of the Office of the City Youth Development Officer, emphasized that the plan underwent a series of consultations and focus group discussions, ensuring the plan reflects the needs and aspirations of the youth.

Councilor Kenneth John Sacala, SK Federation President and chair of the City Council’s committee on sports and youth development, remarked that the LYDP holds the voices of the youth and their call to the government.”
