Oro dads accredit LUPA

THE 20th City Council, in its regular session on Monday, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, adopted a resolution accrediting the Lapasan Urban Poor Association, Inc. (LUPA) for its membership in the local special bodies and the Committee on People’s Organization of the City Development Council (CDC).

LUPA was organized on September 12, 1988 and is now duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor. It is also affiliated with the Cagayan de Oro Federation of People’s Organizations and has an office address at Lambago, Lapasan. 

The Gavel learned that the organization may participate in sports activities, clean-up drives, and feeding programs. 

The legislation was sponsored by the City Council Committee on Planning, Research and Innovation and People’s Organizations Accreditation chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, and the City Council Committee on Laws and Rules chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
