Only those who are fully vaccinated should be allowed to enter spas, sports premises – Balaba

COUNCILOR Joyleen Mercedes L. Balaba on Monday proposed that only those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 shall be allowed to enter gyms, sports centers, spas, massage clinics, and other related establishments.

This was her reaction to the special report of Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas during the 108th regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy, on the proposal to consider the opening of sports premises and spas.

“Atong ipa-allow siguro nga makasulod sa mga facilities katong fully vaccinated pero kung wala pa nabakunahan ayaw lang sa,” Balaba stressed.

Councilor Balaba said people should not live with fear and lose human nature to interact with other people which is really needed in this trying times.

She cited that when a person is fully vaccinated, the infection will likely be mild.

The councilor said she is thankful that she was fully vaccinated when she got hit by Covid-19, as she experienced only mild symptoms. She however recalled the anxiety and stress that came with it.

“Ang ato diha hinay-hinay lang kung kita ma-reach nato ang herd immunity mas maayo pwede nato i-open atong mga sports facilities. But then dili pa gyud nato na sila pwede ipa-open kung dili vaccinated,” Balaba added.
