Nacaya thanks SP members for efforts to resolve RPT concern
COUNCILOR Ian Mark Q. Nacaya on Monday expressed his gratitude to all members of the 19th City Council as he praised their joint efforts to resolve the non-remittance of the Real Property Tax (RPT) shares to some barangays in the city as reported several weeks ago.
During the regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy, Nacaya commended Councilor Yan Lam Lim, president of the Liga ng mga Barangay, who reported that barangays have already received their share of the RPT.
Councilor Nacaya said he considered his act as very dignified being a keen observer on the processes of public governance.
Nacaya also praised Councilor Enrico D. Salcedo for his steadfast position in supporting the barangays even if he will soon be bowing down from public office.
The majority floor leader likewise appreciated Councilor Edna M. Dahino, chair of the committee on finance, budget and appropriations, for collaborating with the committee
on barangay affairs to check the veracity of the complaints.
Nacaya reiterated the manifestation of Councilor Lim to thank Vice Mayor Uy for steering the wheel of the 19th City Council and immediately directing committees concerned to act fervently on reports raised by councilors.
“Salamat Councilor Alam Lim ug sa atong mga kauban sa konseho, majority man or minority, we acted on this as one council. What is a happy moment for all of us is that we have served the smallest local government unit in the city,” Nacaya said.
