More funds for vaccines, “ayuda” during ECQ proposed

WE need to find ways to solve the problem.

This was stressed by Councilor Edna Marban-Dahino during the City Council regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Rainier Joaquin Uy in response to the special report of Councilor Roger Abaday regarding the country’s present health and economic problems.

Citing the recommendation of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Councilor Abaday solicited the help of the council to request the city mayor to ask department heads to identify savings and unobligated funds from projects not yet awarded. He said this can be realigned for the city’s vaccination program and for cash or other forms of assistance to the people during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

Councilor Dahino, chair on the committee of finance, budget and appropriations, recommended that the matter be referred to her committee.

“So that we can invite the Local Finance Committee, and we will discuss where we can really get this augmentation to fast track unsay atong pwedeng mabuhat sa problema karon,” she cited.
