Monitoring of prices of farm products continues
Councilor George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committee on trade and commerce, is continuously monitoring the prices of farm products following complaints from consumers of very high prices of vegetable and marine products.
It was learned that the price of ampalaya now is more than 100 per kilo and so with onions, eggs and many more.
The prices of fish now reach more than P200 to P800 per kilo.
Councilor Goking said that whatever the cause, whether it is due to the law of demand and supply, people will suffer as they would find it hard to balance their income vis-à-vis their needs and expenses. He added that in time of crises people need to properly use their resources, even as he reminds concerned government offices concerned to continue the price monitoring.
