MOA with DOH-CHDNM for Healthy Settings Program 2023 under study

THE City Council Committee on Health, Nutrition, and Health Insurance, chaired by Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, will look into the draft Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Health-Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao (DOH-CHDNM) for the implementation of Healthy Settings Program 2023.

Under the draft MOA, the DOH-CHDNM shall implement the program through the provision of technical and financial assistance to city-wide health systems to assist them in initiating and establishing health promotion programs in their localities.

To support the implementation of the Health Promotion Framework Strategy developed by the DOH for a long-term direction of health promotion policies, the DOH shall implement the Health Promotion Playbook for communities to assist in the capacitation of local government to implement health promotion programs.

The Gavel learned that, this year, the DOH has allocated a financial grant amounting to P1.6 million for each playbook, and the city is entitled to have three playbook implementations with a total grant of P4.8 million for the Universal Health Care grant. The committee will soon tackle the draft MOA during its meeting.
