MOA with DA for grant of farm equipment, facilities Ok’d
The 20th City Council on its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the city government and the Department of Agriculture-Regional Office No. 10 for the grant of Various Farm Equipment/Post Harvest Facilities to the city.
The list of proposed projects/interventions include one unit (1) each of Vacuum Pack Sealer, 4WD Tractor, Egg Incubator, Forage Chopper, Hammermill and Organic Shredder to be given to the city government, Balubal Integated Social Forestry Farmers Association Inc. and AMIA Village-Guinitan Upland Farmers Association (GUFA), respectively.
Under the MOA, the DA RFO-10 will evaluate and validate the proposed projects/interventions of the city and conduct the procurement activities in accordance to RA 9184 of the Government Procurement Law.
It will also turn-over the projects/interventions to the city as grant scheme upon compliance of all required documents for distribution to intended recipients, among others.
For its part, the city will submit to DA RFO-10 the project proposal/letter of intent (LOI) and other documentary requirements, submit the list of recipient/s of the project concurred by the City Mayor.
It will likewise be responsible and accountable for the security of the projects while not yet turned-over to its intended recipients, among others.
Moreover, as a general provision of the MOA, the DA-RFO 10 will transfer the assets at cost to the city implementing units after final acceptance of the project and all required documents are submitted, The Gavel learned.
