MOA for temporary employment of elderly, differently-abled up for review
THE City Council Committee on Social Services, chaired by Councilor Joyleen Mercedes L. Balaba, is set to discuss the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Jollibee Foods Corporation and the city government of Cagayan de Oro to offer temporary employment to qualified elderly and differently-abled individuals.
In his letter to the City Council, Mayor Rolando A. Uy highlighted the program's potential to enhance social welfare, foster economic inclusion, and reduce unemployment among marginalized groups.
He further pointed out that such initiative also supports the city’s goal of promoting an equitable workforce, reducing reliance on social assistance, and contributing to overall economic and social progress, The Gavel learned.
This MOA between the City and Jollibee will be facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD).
