Law requires release of brgy’s RPT Tax share on time - Rodriguez
PURSUANT to Section 271 of Local Code 1991 paragraph 2d, the Real Property Tax (RPT) should be released to the barangays on time and without delay, lien, or holdback for whatever legal purpose. They should get their share without the need for any further action.
This was stressed by Councilor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez in support to the special report of Councilor Enrico D. Salcedo during Monday’s regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy.
The councilor pointed out that there are no acceptable excuses or reasons to hold its release even the alleged late submission of requirements and/or any documents on the part of the barangays.
“I would like to submit a manifestation on this, RPTs should be given on time kay kwarta ni sa katawhan ug sweldo sa atong kabarangayan. It is very clear in the provision nga there will be no excuses like for example dili maka submit sa ilang mga papeles on time, that is not the reason to hold the Real Property Tax,” Rodriguez stressed.
