Kagay-anons win big in Davao karate tilt
THE Cagayan de Oro team of the Philippine Shotokan Karatedo Association, Inc. showcased a remarkable display of their martial arts acumen and mental toughness in the 87th Araw ng Dabaw Karate Championship held on March 23 and 24.
During the 76th regular session of the 20th City Council, presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, Chairman of Games and Amusement Councilor Roger G. Abaday sponsored a resolution honoring the Kagay-anon athletes who hauled medals in various individual and team categories in the said tournament.
Gold and silver medalists were Lleyton Andre C. Santos. Charlize James C. Santos, Rahnee Zelle A. Unas, Martino Laurence M. Jadap, Niel Lloyd B. Sangrador, Aaron Dave A. Lacaba, Abigail J. Fernandez, Dylon Francis P. Palamine Alexa Q. Patcho, Khimverly C. Yamba, and Yeohan James F. Dacoco. Also awarded with bronze medals were Niel Lloyd B. Sangrador, Michaela P. Palamine, and Dylyn Francis P. Palamine.
This impressive feat of the homegrown Kagay-anons is a testament to the dedication of the city's karate community, their coaches and trainers, and the commitment of Cagayan de Oro to sports excellence.
