Kagay-anon women in social development honored in Babae Mi Bai! Year 2

VICE Mayor Bebot Rodriguez brought back Babae Mi Bai! for its second year, a brainchild activity honoring Kagay-anon women who make a significant contribution for the betterment of the city. 

 

The 2nd Bebot Awards 2025 honored 21 outstanding women who make great strides in the governance, education, healthcare, Indigenous peoples' rights, livelihood and religious sectors of social development, recognizing their leadership ideals that are reflective of VM Bebot’s Kaisog and Kasingkasing brand of public service.




 

Alongside VM Bebot in presenting the plaques of recognition was Ms. Sheila Lumbatan, Chief-of-Staff of Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy and Gender and Development Focal Person.

 

Following after was the Dear Vice: A Letter Writing Contest, showcasing the voices of senior high school students who shared stories about women who have had positively influenced their lives.

 

Ms. Aira Jane Maro of Lumbia National High School emerged as the grand winner and had the chance of reading her letter about her grandmother to the crowd.

 

VM Bebot expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the participants and reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to empowering women in Cagayan de Oro. (JDOpema/SP)
