Iponan youth to benefit from ₱4.4M SK budget
THE 20th City Council, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved a resolution on Monday, approved as operational the Supplemental Budget No. 1 for 2024 of Barangay Iponan’s Sangguniang Kabataan, with an estimated income of ₱4,424,713.00.
Almost half of its budget or ₱2,139,713.00 is allocated for Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), covering costs for travel, training, office supplies, as well as drugs and medicines. Additional funds have been earmarked for other supplies, materials, and operational expenses, including donations and socio-cultural initiatives.
The remaining ₱2,285,000.00 will go towards the implementation of youth development and empowerment programs in the barangay. This allocation covers a range of committee-led initiatives in Barangay Iponan, including education (₱630,000.00), health (₱215,000.00), peacebuilding and security (₱80,000.00), social inclusion and equity (₱230,000.00), active citizenship (₱925,000.00), environmental projects (₱155,000.00), and agriculture (₱50,000.00).
The resolution was reviewed and endorsed by the Committees on Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John D. Sacala, and on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
