Installation of PVB ATM machine at City Hall seen

THE 19th City Council during its regular session yesterday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted an ordinance authorizing the city mayor and city treasurer to enter into and sign the agreement for the installation of an off-site ATM with the Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB).

This covers the provision of one unit Through-the-Wall Type Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at the New Legislative Building, City Hall Compound to serve city government officials and personnel and other residents of the city particularly the members of the veterans sector.

It was learned the facility will provide convenient service not only to employees of the city government as they no longer need to go far whenever they want to make withdrawals from their accounts with the said bank but also to other clients who have transactions with city hall.

Under the agreement, the PVB shall provide and install a bank ATM at the new Legislative Building particularly at the portion fronting Burgos St., and shall maintain the area/space that will be provided by the city government in good condition. It may also, upon prior written approval of the city, make alterations or improvements on the ATM booth as it deems necessary, among others.

For its part, the city government shall maintain a Current/Savings Deposit Account with the PVB Cagayan de Oro Branch. It shall also shoulder the charges for electric consumption and monthly space rental of the ATM booth and shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to the booth arising from or in connection with its use or operation unless such loss or damage arose from or is attributable to the acts and omissions of the city, its officers, employees and representatives not related to or in connection with the ordinary use of the ATM, such as but not limited to vandalism, among others.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committee on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya.
