Hospital referral arrangement with Talakag, Bukidnon up for review

THE proposed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Municipal Government of Talakag, Bukidnon covering the collaboration of the parties in establishing a referral arrangement between the JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) and the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital – Talakag, Bukidnon will be reviewed by the City Council committee on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya.

The Gavel learned that the Talakag government is eager to collaborate with the city to address the health needs of its constituents and provide the appropriate hospital care they deserve, particularly in their diagnostic services requirements.

As a level 1 hospital, the city-owned JRBGH is equipped with facilities for providing quality and effective secondary curative care and maternal care services to its patients and clients.

Mayor Oscar Moreno informed the legislative body that the collaboration is consistent with the policy of the government, whereby a higher-level public hospital like JRBGH provides the needed health and hospital assistance to lower-level public health facilities.

Under the draft MOA, which promotes the whole-of-government approach, the city will allow the patients of the provincial hospital of Talakag requiring a higher-level of medical care to be referred to the JRBGH.

The city-run hospital will also provide diagnostic services to the endorsed patients of the provincial hospital of Talakag.
