Health Committee to tackle proposed Macabalan Super Health Center

THE City Council Committee on Health, Nutrition, and Health Insurance chaired by Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane is set to convene tomorrow, November 8, 2023, at the City Council Session Hall, to tackle the draft Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Health and Barangay Macabalan. This covers the proposed construction of the Super Health Center at the said barangay.

In its barangay resolution submitted to the committee, the Barangay Council conceded that the portion of open space at Piaping Itum, Macabalan be the project site of the DOH’s funded construction of the health center.

Also in the agenda, the committee will discuss the proposed separate ordinances providing free annual comprehensive check-ups and laboratory exams in public hospitals and prioritizing senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities (PWDs), and the proposed ordinance institutionalizing the barangay mental wellbeing corner, both filed by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez.

The committee invited Vice Mayor Rodriguez, Dr. Ellenietta Gamolo of DOH, City Administrator Atty. Roy Raagas, Atty. Kenneth Tamala of City Legal Office, Dr. Ferdinand Miranda of J.R. Borja General Hospital, and Dr. Rachel Dilla of the City Health Office, among others, to attend the scheduled meeting.
