Health Comm to tackle petition to stop cell tower installation in residential areas

THE City Council Committee on Health, Nutrition and Health Insurance, chaired by Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, is set to take up the petition to stop the installation of cell tower by iSON Tower Group of Companies at the building rooftop of a certain family in Barangay Lapasan.

In a letter addressed to the Lapasan barangay chairman, a total of 394 residents expressed their opposition to the project citing the health risks associated with exposure to radiation, environmental pollution, and possible damages to lives and properties in times of unforeseen events like earthquakes and strong winds.
