Goking thanks Sen Marcos for support to Oro, MisOr

City Councilor George S. Goking, chair on the City Council committee on trade and commerce and on ways and means, is very much thankful and grateful to Senator Imee R. Marcos for choosing Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental to celebrate her special day and giving support and assistance to their respective residents. The celebration was also part of her senatorial duties as she celebrated her birthday last November 12, 2022.

Councilor Goking observed that even if the celebration falls on Sunday still there were 2000 beneficiaries, more or less, who received Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

He added that Sen. Marcos distributed P3,000 each to 2,000 individuals, amounting to a total of P6 million from DSWD through her initiative. The cash assistance will cover education, medical, transportation, burial and food and non- food assist beneficiaries in providing basic needs to their families. The program benefited indigenous farmers, fisherfolks and homeless individuals.

It was learned that the distribution of cash aid was held at the City Hall and at the Tagoloan Dome where she also distributed toys to 200 children.
