Goking seeks support for reservists

COUNCILOR George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committees on trade and commerce and on ways and means, is requesting the local government to support reservists who are ready at all times to give their services to the people.

During man-made and natural calamities, reservists are there to assist and help, he said.

Councilor Goking said that in this time of pandemic, reservists can be seen in checkpoints, hospitals and during flooding incidents.

The role of reservists in helping the Armed Forces is very vital. The services they rendered are voluntary and they don’t receive salaries at the expense of their lives and away from their families during the times they are needed.

They are voluntary civilians who learn knowledge of war, and also efficiency in performing government support roles during disaster or development activities. We need to support them, he stressed.
