Goking joins price inspection with DOH-10, DTI, CPCC

COUNCILOR George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committee on trade and commerce, supported the campaign to protect consumers’ welfare together with the Department of Health (DOH-10), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the City Price Coordinating Council (CPCC).

The councilor joined the random inspection last week of drugstores to monitor the prices of medicines. Councilor Goking said that in this time of crisis wherein prices of basic commodities continue to rise “we need to closely monitor the prices not only of medicine but also the prices of rice”.

He said that in spite of the effort of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to lower the prices of rice, its price is still increasing.

Councilor Goking expressed hopes that the “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” will be launched in the city so that Kagay-anon can avail the P20 per kilo price of rice, which was his main agenda during the campaign period.
