Goking graces OIC assembly

Councilor George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committees on trade and commerce and on ways and means, represented the City Mayor during the annual assembly of Oro Integrated Cooperative (OIC)-Yacapin Branch on March 12, 2023 held at Corpus Christi School gymnasium in Macasandig. The annual assembly was centered on the theme “Padayon sa Paglig-on OIC, Alang sa Mauswagon nga Katilingban”.

In his message, Councilor Goking cited the importance of cooperation and unity, even as he said that during the time of pandemic, the cooperative had survived despite challenges in its operations. The councilor added that he is willing to assist and help the cooperative on its problems, especially the taxation aspect during the pandemic. Goking added that for coop members who had delinquencies during the pandemic, he is hoping that the management will also study on how to help the members with regards to penalties and surcharges of their loans. The councilor said this is necessary so that the members will not suffer much, adding that dividends and other benefits should be given to members who are still active but having delinquencies on their accounts or a win-win solution should be considered.
