Goking graces ACPAPP convention
COUNCILOR George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committees on trade and commerce and on ways and means, attended the Annual National Convention of the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice held yesterday at the Luxe Hotel.
Representing Mayor Rolando A. Uy, Councilor Goking turned over the symbolic key of the city to the association citing that accountants have a big role in monitoring the economy not only in the country but in the whole world.
Their services are very important, without their effort businesses shall not prosper well, he pointed out.
Accountants monitor daily transactions of businesses and inform proprietors if there is profit or loss in the businesses they are engaged in, the councilor added.
In his message, Councilor Goking expressed gratitude to officials of the ACPAPP for holding the 22nd Annual Convention in Cagayan de Oro.
That is one way of helping our economy to recover and grow more. Tourism will recover as visitors will visit the city, there will be more economic development, he added.
