Goking, CPCC conduct joint monitoring on prices of medicines

Councilor George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committee on trade and commerce, together with the City Local Price Coordinating Council (CDO-CPCC) headed by Atty. Jose Edgardo Uy conducted a joint monitoring with DTI and Department of Health 10 inspected the prices of medicine on pharmacies and drugstore within the city yesterday.

Goking said in this time of crises prices need monitoring especially the basic medicines needed of the patients. There are times that prices cannot be controlled when the law on demand and supply plays.

“When the demand is high and the supply is low naturally the price is high and when the supply is high and the demand is low the price is cheaper,” he said.

Goking advised the public to make a canvass before purchasing the medicines they need for comparison so they can save. He expressed hopes that the business owners will follow the suggested retail price of their products.
