Goking cites need for initiative, coordination to protect people, economy
“We need to have initiatives, coordination, and cooperation in this time of pandemic to protect the people and to recover the economy. A well-planned system can help much in this time of disaster,” said Councilor George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committees on trade and commerce and on ways and means.
The councilor recently participated in a zoom session conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) under the program for newly-elected officials (NEO) entitled, “In the context of conflict and disaster: Gaps and Challenges in implementing Social Protection Initiatives at Local Level”.
Councilor Goking said sustainability plays a vital role in many dimensions and all of these matter for a strong system of management in safety protection, preparedness, and readiness to the needs of the people, and quick response in social protection and in the economy.
