Goking backs request for opening of more businesses

COUNCILOR George S. Goking, chair of the City Council committee on trade and commerce, is supporting the request for the opening of businesses that were totally closed during the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

The councilor, however, pointed out that even if the City Council passed a resolution requesting Mayor Oscar Moreno and the Cagayan de Oro COVID-19 Task Force to consider the provisional opening of operations of fitness, entertainment facilities and other related tourism establishments, it will still depend on the wisdom and decision of the implementing office.

He stressed that during this time, the strict implementation of health protocols is much needed.

It’s true and we are thankful that the rate of Covid cases is decreasing but we still have to observe these protocols and pursue measures to fight the pandemic, he cited, expressing hopes that the next months will be better for all.
