Gaane congratulates CDO as CROWN maintenance awardee

“WE are humbled by this recognition”.

This was stressed by Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, chair of the City Council committee on health, nutrition, and health insurance, as she proudly expressed her congratulatory message to the city of Cagayan de Oro for being the Second Year Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) Maintenance awardee.

The City Nutrition Committee (CNC) together with Councilor Gaane received the award during the 2022 National Nutrition Awarding Ceremony held at Manila Hotel, Manila.

In her speech, Gaane said City Mayor Rolando A. Uy’s administration has committed to exert best efforts to bring government services closer to the people, most especially vital health services. She added that the award recognizes the efforts of the CNC’s achievements, as well as its commitment to managing nutrition programs. Gaane likewise commended the CNC for their dedication, which demonstrates their shared ambition for success and excellence in enhancing nutrition for all Kagay-anons.

“This victory gives us more motivation to win the Nutrition Honor Award (NHA) and a bigger cash incentive of P1 million,” said Gaane.

With this award, Councilor Gaane also acknowledged the efforts of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) as she considered them as silent heroes. “Let’s also honor our silent heroes who made this award possible. You, of all the city’s nutrition stakeholders, earned this award,” Gaane stressed.
