Esparcia urges creation of TWG for Miss CDO ‘24
IN his special report during the regular session Monday, Councilor Malvern A. Esparcia calls for the creation of a Miss Cagayan de Oro City 2024 technical working group (TWG) that will collaborate with the organizers behind the beauty pageants in Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, and Miss Earth Philippines, citing that most of them come from the city.
Based on his experiences attending the said events, Esparcia saw how well-organized, patient, professional, and meticulous these people are to have made some world-class pageantries.
“Itapok daw nato ni sila. Our beloved Mayor wants to show not only to our neighboring provinces and cities but also to the world that we could produce pageants that are captivating, enchanting, and unique, making us Kagayanons proud,” the councilor explained.
He added that beauty pageants hold significant social and economic value, serving as platforms to showcase beauty and intelligence, bringing communities together, and providing economic benefits to local businesses. They also promote tourism, highlight local talents, and foster community engagement, he added.
Esparcia requested the members of the Committee on Tourism, chaired by Councilor Jay R. Pascual, to pursue the city’s desire to become a hallmark for national and international pageantry and restore the city’s glory by highlighting world-class talent and ingenuity.
