Emano prods women to embrace strength, perseverance every day

IN honor of women, Councilor Yvy Emano said that Women’s Month should not be celebrated during March and April only; it should be celebrated every day.

The lady councilor stressed on Sunday during the Women’s Night, a culminating activity of Barangay Puntod headed by Barangay Chairman Alexis J. Dacer, the need for women to embrace their strength, resilience, and perseverance in the face of challenges and adversity.

“Dili kinahanglan nga dagko nga event para mamahimo ta ug makaingon ta nga ‘ay, naappreciate akong pagkababae, naappreciate akong gibuhat isip usa ka babae sa among katilingban”, she opined.

As we reflect on the significant paces made in gender equality and women’s empowerment, Councilor Emano urged women to support one another, lift each other up, and strive for a more inclusive society. She reiterated the importance of fostering a culture of respect and unity, where all women can thrive and prosper.

“Women are very inclusive. Kita mga babae, kita nag-ila sa atong kaugalingon isip usa ka babae, pirmi ta maabi-abihon sa atong kauban, ma-lalaki, ma-myembro sa LGBTQ, or member sa senior citizen, mga kabatan-onan, solo parent, kita galantaw kanunay sa atong isig katao”, she stressed.

With this, Councilor Emano congratulated the Puntod Barangay Council for making the event possible with the goal that every woman in the barangay is happy as they participated in the event and exposed their talents amidst busy schedule.

“We hope nga magmalipayon kamo, you will make memories karon gabi-ona, make the best out of the night, and hopefully inyong ipatigbabaw ang kahusay ug kalinaw sa inyong barangay”, she concluded.
