TRAINING, refresher courses, formulation and orientation of healthcare personnel as well as Barangay Healthcare Workers in first aid course and mental health will also be provided under the Enhanced Local Climate Change Action Plan (ELCCAP) 2022- 2031.

Through Resolution No. 14614-2023, the 20th City Council during its special regular session held last June 15, 2023, presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, adopted/approved the ELCCAP of the city, as presented by City Mayor Rolando A. Uy.

ELCCAP is a strategic roadmap designed to guide Cagayan de Oro City in addressing the challenges posed by climate change. It begins by recognizing the urgent need to address the adverse impacts of climate change on our community.

Under the social sector of Program, Project, Activities (PPAs) & Policy Support of ELCCAP, starting the year 2024, all healthcare workers will be trained annually, which projected a budget of P29 million in total.

These proposed programs will be implemented by the City Health Office (CHO), City Health Insurance Office (CHIO), and the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department (DRRMD).

Other projects include the provision of emergency relief assistance, emergency food assistance, and psychosocial assistance beginning next year which will be implemented by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) with a proposed budget of P180 million.
