During Rotary Youth Week 2024 -VM Bebot Rodriguez hails youth leaders

Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez congratulated the Rotary Youth City Officials and the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro during the culmination program of the Rotary Youth Week 2024, titled “Parangal at Pagpupugay”, held on November 29, 2024, at the City Council Session Hall.

In her message, VM Bebot recognized the student leaders on their active participation in the immersive leadership program and encouraged them to pursue their goals with passion and integrity.

“Bankruptcy of human dignity begins when we compromise it in our actions,” she reminded the youth, calling for leadership rooted in compassion.

Joining VM Bebot were Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro President RTN Neil Ronald Que, RTN Jairus John Gochuco, RTN Atty. Armen Rashid Malawani as Program Moderator, other Rotarians, and members of the City Council.

The Rotary Youth Week is an annual initiative spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro, in collaboration with the Department of Education and the City Government, which provides senior high school student leaders from various public and private schools an opportunity to assume roles as local government officials.

The week-long program includes sessions on parliamentary procedure, ordinance and resolution making, and governance processes.

Earlier in the week, the 20th City Council led by VM Bebot welcomed the student leaders during their regular session, where they served as counterparts to the vice mayor and city councilors, gaining valuable insights into legislative functions and public service.

VM Bebot, a staunch advocate of youth empowerment, has consistently supported this initiative throughout her term, recognizing its significant role in preparing the youth for future leadership roles in the city and beyond.
