Devt of Socialized Housing Project seen
THE development of another socialized housing project is in the offing.
The City Council during its regular session today, July 5, presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted an ordinance authorizing Mayor Oscar S. Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the a) Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), the Highland Ville Homeowners’ Association, Inc.,; Cebu Landmasters, Inc. and Fino Land, Inc. covering the collaboration of the parties for the development of the Muslim Christian Socialized Housing Project in Barangay Lumbia.
The ordinance also covers its accreditation under the DHSUD’s participation in the Community Mortgage Program (CMP) under certain terms and conditions.
The Muslim Christian Women Homeowners Association is the owner of the parcel of a 24,535 square meter lot, which shall be developed as a housing project.
Under the MOA, the city shall engage in the services of a third-party contractor and cause the construction of 223 housing units.
It shall undertake the development of the project with the city’s
constituents as primary beneficiaries who will be identified based on the criteria and qualifications as it may require and in accordance with the eligibility requirements of the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) housing loan program.
The implementation of the program is in line with the intention of the city to provide affordable and livable shelter and to address the constant threat of calamities and natural disasters as cited in the MOA.
