Dahino, Rodriguez backs grant of assistance to Kagay-anons during MECQ
COUNCILORS Edna Marban-Dahino and Jocelyn Rodriguez supported the request of Councilor Lordan G. Suan for the city to provide support to Kagay-anons especially at this time that the city is under modified enhanced community quarantine ( MECQ) due to surging cases of COVID 19.
During the City Council regular session Monday presided by Rainier Joaquin V. Uy, Councilor Dahino said the city has already done so much in providing medicine and shelter for positive Covid-19 patients and many more.
“We really appreciate that the city government is really supportive and doing something...” she cited.
Councilor Dahino however said the city does not have sufficient funds considering the closure of business establishments.
She pointed out that help for the people can be done through cash for work and other means. It needs more study and strategy and a win-win solution is needed, she stressed.
“We have to study more … we have to do it fast … so we can really find ways how we can be able to help as fast as we could para nga atong mabalanse pud , ang atong mga katawhan matabangan at the same time dili pud kaayo bug-at sa syudad,” she added.
For her part, Councilor Jocelyn Rodriguez said basic support is needed to lessen the positive cases of Covid in the city. She said people will go out for food so there is a need to help them to make them stay at home.
People are so stressed for their daily needs and even a small support (to them would) mean a lot, Rodriguez stressed.
