Dahino cmte looks into funds for vaccines, cash assistance

THE City Council committee on finance, budget and appropriations chaired by Councilor Edna M. Dahino yesterday discussed the proposal of Councilor Roger G. Abaday to request the city mayor to identify savings and unobligated funds from projects not yet awarded to be realigned for the city’s vaccination program and for cash assistance to the people during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

The committee also discussed the need for additional doctors and nurses as vaccinators and for computers to fast track the vaccination rollout.

With this, Dahino asked the City Accounting Office to identify the balances or savings from prior years’ budget of the City specifically the unused funds allocated for various unawarded projects.

She also requested the said office to determine the exact balances from the offices of some city councilors whose allocations were not used during the first and second quarters.

“I think the other councilors’ allocations nga wala sad magamit sa first and second quarters pwede maisa na lang para nga mas dako kay dili man gud kaayo nato makitaan sa impact kung isa o duha lang.

As chair of this committee, I would also like to recommend nga if ever naa pay mga sobra-sobra atong first and second quarters to augment, we might as well include this amount. Kung maka allocate ta og 200 or 300 million more from our savings, why not? Para maka respond ta sa atong problema karon,” Councilor Dahino further pointed out.
