In his letter to the City Council, Mayor Uy said this is necessary to comply with the requirements of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), which require schools and technical-vocational institutions to execute and sign agreements with partner institutions where their students and learners are to undergo on-the-job training and practical skills training.

Such partnership also conforms to the mandate of the City College Governing Board to approve linkages with other LGUs, institutions, and agencies, both public and private, local and foreign, in furtherance of the purposes and objectives of the institution, The Gavel learned.

The said legislation, sponsored by the Committee on Education of Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, ensures that the City College aligns with the City’s RISE Development Agenda and to establish an effective and efficient structure of the City College.
