Dads accredit Xavier Science Foundation

The 20th City Council on its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez accredited the Xavier Science Foundation, Inc. (XSF) for purposes of its membership in the local special bodies (LSB), pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2022-083 and Article 64, Rule XII of the Rules and Regulations Implementing the 1991 Local Government Code or funding its project from the city or other sources.

The XSF is a non-stock, non-profit organization with office address at Manresa Complex, Masterson Avenue, Upper Balulang. It was established on September 13, 1968 by the late Fr. William F. Masterson SJ in his vision to develop Mindanao as the center of agricultural development.

The XSF, over the five decades, has supported development projects directed to poverty reduction and social empowerment through agriculture. Since its beginning in 1968, XSF has grown to become a respected member of social development community.

It has supported varied development programs and projects in partnership with government institutions, donor organizations both in and out of the country, The Gavel learned.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on planning, research and innovation and people’s organization accreditation and on laws and rules both chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya.
