Council backs BUFA land titling

The dream of Buntod Farmers Association (BUFA) members to finally own the land where their houses are located will soon be realized.

This, after the 20th City Council, during its regular session Monday, presided over by Presiding Officer Pro Tempore Councilor Romeo Calizo, passed a resolution interposing no objection to the application of BUFA for the land titling of a 2.844-hectare public land in Sitio Buntod, Barangay Bayanga, this city.

The public land will be awarded to the actual occupants and qualified beneficiaries as per recommendation of the Task Force for Emancipation of Piso-Piso Beneficiaries-Land Asset Management Office under the Office of City Mayor Rolando A. Uy.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on subdivision and landed estate and on laws and rules both chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas. (JBDacer/SP)
