City Vet submits report on services rendered
THE City Veterinary Office continues to provide public health services for animals and meat inspection operations in the city.
Dr. Lucien Anthony P. Acac, OIC-City Veterinarian, submitted to the City Council committee on health and health insurance chaired by Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane the report of the City Pound Section on rabies and meat inspection operations and other services for the month of June 2022.
Based on the report, 26 dogs were claimed, 11 adopted, and 104 were euthanized, while nine animals underwent operation.
Meanwhile, the City Veterinary Office also conducted anti-rabies vaccination to dogs in some barangays in the city.
A total of 2,325 dogs were vaccinated against rabies in Barangays Bulua (545 dogs), Balulang (457 dogs), Camaman-an (302 dogs), Carmen (167 dogs), Kauswagan (116 dogs), Iponan (110 dogs), among others.
On the other hand, 845 heads of cattle, 11 carabaos, 46 horses, 4,587 hogs, 35 goats, 200 chickens, and 16 ostriches were slaughtered, based on the report. (SP/JBDacer)
