City to ink MOA with XU for healthcare, educational resources
The city government of Cagayan de Oro will be collaborating with the Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan covering the exchange of healthcare and educational resources for the city's constituents.
This, as the 20th City Council, during its regular session presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the purpose. The city will be allowing the XU School of Medicine students to assist in the City Health Office’s identified City Barangay Health Units and City Health Social Hygiene Clinic.
Under the MOA, the city will allow medical students, clinical preceptors, faculty, and staff of the XU to carry out and conduct research studies, training, and clinical exposure related to their field of expertise within the City Health Office’s identified City Barangay Health Units and City Health Social Hygiene Clinic.
The medical students will be allowed access to clients or patients in the Barangay Health Units and Social Hygiene Clinic for their clinical exposure. The XU shall ensure that all its students, clinical preceptors, faculty, and staff strictly abide by the proper decorum, including the rules and regulations of the city, among others.
The MOA was reviewed and endorsed by the Committees on Health, Nutrition, and Health Insurance and Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilors Maria Lourdes S. Gaane and Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively.
