City to collaborate with DA-10 for implementation of chicken multiplier farm project

THE 19th City Council during its regular session yesterday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted an ordinance authorizing the Mayor Oscar S. Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Agriculture (DA), Regional Office No. 10 covering the parties’ collaboration in the implementation of the project entitled: Free Range Chicken Multiplier Farm.

The project aims to establish farms that can produce quality poultry materials to be distributed as livelihood assistance to qualified recipients of the project.

Under the MOA, DA-RFO 10 shall provide overall direction in the implementation of the project and exercise evaluation, monitoring, and supervision relative to the implementation of the project.

It shall also procure goods and infrastructure intended for the project in accordance with RA 9184 (Government Procurement Law), conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the project to ascertain the progress of implementation and compliance to the scope of works and specifications, determine impending issues and concerns and come up with appropriate recommendations to the secretary, among others.

For its part, the city shall provide adequate and sufficient lot or land that is owned by the city and compliant to the existing zoning ordinance and other existing laws, rules and regulations to be used for the project.

It shall also be responsible for the provision of electrical and water connections, access road and/or road improvement, labor and other maintenance expenses of the project, among others.

The legislation was certified urgent by the city mayor and duly approved by all members of the City Council.
