City joins in Women’s Month celebration
Vice Mayor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez and Councilor Imee P. Moreno, chair of the City Council committee on Women and Family Relations, invite the public to join the Women’s Month celebration, which is centered on the theme: “WE for gender equality and inclusive society”.
The vice mayor enjoins everyone to “celebrate the innumerable achievements and contributions of women in our society.”
Activities have been lined up to highlight the month-long celebration that will start on March 8, 2023 with a mass at St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral, followed by a motorcade with participants coming from the barangays, private organizations and other companies. After the motorcade, there will be a Zumba dance to be participated by women from the different sectors.
There will also be a bazaar at Gaston Park to display non-agricultural products and at the City Hall mini-park (agricultural-products). Other activities include the Diskwento Caravan from March 8, 2023 until March 31, 2023 and film showing at Gaston Park every Friday and Saturday.
Councilor Moreno said a free medical and dental consultation and HPV vaccine is set on March 8 and March 30 at the City Tourism Hall, free cervical and breast cancer awareness and screening on March 8-31, showcasing of local products at Duaw Park from March 8-31, 2023 and many more planned activities like visiting the City Jail female dormitory.
