City Hall to grant COVID allowance to health workers
Health workers assigned at the City Health Office (CHO) will soon receive their One COVID-19 Allowance (OCA).
This, after the 20th City Council headed by City Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez during its regular session Monday presided over by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Health-Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao (DOH-CHDNM).
Under the MOA, the DOH-CHDNM will transfer funds to the city for the grant of OCA to eligible health care workers and non-health care workers, in accordance with DBM-DOH-joint circular.
The DOH-CHDNM will also evaluate the list of health care workers submitted by the city on a monthly basis and approve the final list of health care workers in accordance with the guidelines.
For its part, the city will facilitate the payment of OCA benefits to its eligible health care workers and non-health care workers as guided by DBM-DOH Joint Circular No. 2022 entitled: “Guidelines on the grant of OCA to private and public health care workers and non-health care workers in health facilities involved in COVID response.”
The city will also submit to the DOH the financial and accomplishment reports for monitoring on or before the 10th day of the month following its recording in the monthly statement or allowance or allotment and obligation and balance, among others.
Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, chair of the committee on health, is the proponent of the ordinance.
