City earmarks ₱61.9-M infra projects to city-owned hospitals
MORE infrastructure projects are being prioritized by the city government to J.R. Borja General Hospital (JRBGH), Lumbia, and House of Hope hospitals for the year 2025.
These are included in the city’s ₱8.8 billion annual budget in the upcoming year, which the 20th City Council approved during its regular session presided over by Councilor Romeo V. Calizo last week.
The allocated funds will be used for improvements at the JRBGH, including renovation of entrance lobby Phase II in the amount of ₱2 million; construction of Central Sterilization Supply Department, ₱5 million; construction of tertiary level dietary unit, ₱3 million; and expansion and renovation of emergency department (ER) Phase II, ₱5 million.
Part of the budget will also be utilized for the completion of JRBGH frontage Phase I, ₱1.6 million; renovation of material recovery facility unit, ₱2 million; provision of rooms for Hospital Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (HESU), ₱500,000; Public Health Unit (PHU), ₱300,000; women and child protection unit, ₱500,000; and wound unit, ₱500,000.
Meanwhile, the city allotted ₱2 million for the construction of covered pavement with ramp from facility entrance to animal bite treatment center of Lumbia Hospital and the renovation of operating room amounting to ₱15 million.
The City Hospital House of Hope will get ₱2 million for the completion of new Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) and construction, roofing, repainting of the main hall and main wards (men & female) amounting to ₱2.5 million.
Also included in the priority projects is the comprehensive renovation of the dilapidated health centers amounting to ₱20 million.
