City Council oks Brgy. 23 SK budget

IN its 116th regular session, the 20th City Council approved the annual budget of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay 23, totaling ₱485,065.00.

Of the budget, ₱283,707.00 has been earmarked for youth development and empowerment programs on education, health, the environment, active citizenship, peacebuilding and security, governance, and social inclusion.

Specific initiatives under this allocation include “School Supplies Mo, Kinabukasan Ko,” an HIV orientation and seminar, “Kalinaw Kalimpyo Kalambuan sa Kabatanunan,” Linggo ng Kabataan, “Droga ay Iwasan, Sarili, Pamilya at Kaibigan Protektahan,” and the Katipunan Kabataan Assembly.

Meanwhile, ₱92,701.00 has been allocated for maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE), covering costs for travel, training, office supplies, cultural and athletic activities, SK uniforms, and contributions to the SK Federation. The remaining ₱108,657.00 has been designated for the honorarium of SK members.

The budget approval was endorsed by the committee on sports and youth development and the committee on laws and rules, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John Sacala and Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively. (SPEscoltos)
