City Council oks ₱1.7M budget of SK Puerto
THE 20th City Council, in its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, gives the green light to the ₱1,768,733.00 annual budget for 2024 of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Puerto.
This allocation, aligned with Republic Act No. 10742, also known as the SK Reform Act, comes from the barangay’s 10% development fund in support to various youth programs, projects, and activities for this year.
The SK Puerto budget includes allocation for honorariums, maintenance, and operating expenses for travel, training and seminars, office supplies, and donations and solicitations, among others.
It also provides for the purchase of a computer unit and the operational expenses of SK committees on health, education, environment, global mobility, active citizenship, peacebuilding and security, social inclusion and equity, governance, and economic empowerment.
The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on Sports and Youth Development and on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilors Kenneth John Sacala and Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively.
