City Council okays payments to families affected by Tablon Hospital road project
THE 20th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez gave its go signal to pay four owners of properties that were affected by the proposed road project at the Tablon Hospital.
On Monday’s regular session, the Council enacted an ordinance appropriating the sum of P1.7 million for the payment of the claim for just compensation of improvements (buildings) of the identified claimants, which were affected by the 10.00-meter wide proposed road from the National Highway towards Tablon Hospital.
Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, Chair of the City Council Committee on Subdivision and Landed Estate, informed the body that, after this, the city government can now construct wider roads for the use of ambulances in case of emergency. As per the inspection conducted by the committee a few months ago, the road leading to the said hospital is too narrow, he said.
With this, the City Council likewise authorized City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to sign the Deed of Absolute Sale for the purpose. The ordinance was reviewed and endorsed by the Committee on Subdivision and Landed Estate, Finance, Budget, and Appropriation, and Laws and Rules chaired by Councilors Cabanlas and Yan Lam Lim, respectively.
