City Council commends TJ Monterde for historic music milestones

In its regular session on Monday, the 20th City Council of Cagayan de Oro passed a resolution congratulating TJ Monterde for his outstanding achievements in the Philippine music industry.

Monterde, a proud Kagay-anon, made history as the first Filipino solo male artist to stage three consecutive sold-out concerts titled Sarili Nating Mundo at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on February 1-3, 2025.

His latest song, Palagi, recently topped the Billboard Philippines Top Philippine Songs chart after a 17-week climb and was named Billboard Philippines’ No. 1 song of 2024. Monterde also holds the title of the most streamed OPM artist on Spotify, surpassing one billion streams.
